On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, MATSURI, led by the Chitose Group, held the “MATSURI” Open Day in the University of Tokyo, the first industry research event for the general public since the project was launched. This event was attended by MATSURI partners ENEOS Corporation, Shiseido Corporation, NGK Insulators, Kao Corporation, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as exhibitors. On the day of the event, we received many applications, mainly from student participants, with 109 people attending, far exceeding our initial expectations.
The first part of the event featured lectures by Fujita, CEO of Chitose Group, and Mr. Oguchi of Shiseido Co., Ltd., as well as pitches from exhibiting companies explaining their reasons for participating in MATSURI and introducing their companies. In the second part, each company had a booth. It was a casual format where participants could freely visit the booths, and the event was so successful that there was even standing room.
MATSURI's aim is not "business creation" but "industry creation." MATSURI has continued to expand since it was launched as a business collaboration project in 2021, but the participation of not only businesses and local governments but also general consumers is essential for the creation of industry. In the future, MATSURI will continue to plan events that will be widely recognized by the general public. We look forward to the participation of many people, regardless of industry, size, occupation, or position, in order to build an algae industry. Thank you for your continued support!
We had more participants than could fit in our booth.
