Chitose Group's algae business at IMAT was introduced on NHK Hiroshima Broadcasting Station's "Okonomi Wide Hiroshima" and NHK national version "Good Morning Japan"

Chitose Research Institute Senior BioEngineer*1 Aoki was featured on NHK Hiroshima Broadcasting Station's "Okonomi Wide Hiroshima" broadcast on Tuesday, January 23rd, and on NHK's national version "Good Morning Japan" broadcast on Friday, February 16th. Shinichi gave a talk about the Chitose Group's algae business at the Japan Microalgae Technology Association (IMAT).

IMAT is conducting activities related to building a research infrastructure for microalgae with the aim of promoting the industrial use of microalgae and the development of related technologies. At the core of this is the Chitose Group's technology in the ``MATSURI'' algae industry project that utilizes CO2. The C4 algae production facility, which opened in Sarawak, Malaysia last year, is a long-term, large-scale algae production facility that utilizes CO2 in exhaust gas from an adjacent thermal power plant to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Demonstration tests have begun. In the future, we plan to expand the scale of algae production to 2,000 ha, contributing to the creation of a carbon-neutral and truly sustainable society.
