[Press Release] Algae industry construction project “MATSURI” open day held at the University of Tokyo!

The Chitose Group, which operates “MATSURI,” will hold an industry research event “MATSURI Open Day at the University of Tokyo” on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the University of Tokyo. ENEOS Corporation, Shiseido Corporation, NGK Insulators, Kao Corporation, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation will be participating in this event as exhibitors. We welcome a wide range of visitors, including those who wish to deepen their understanding of the future and possibilities of algae, the essential solutions to environmental problems, and those who wish to give back to society what they have learned.

In today's world, which is overflowing with keywords related to environmental issues such as sustainable, ethical, SDGs, carbon neutral, and GX, there are not many solutions that can be called "essential," and the companies tackling environmental issues are a mixed bag. Students and general consumers who will create the future are also required to have the ability to grasp the essence.
“MATSURI Open Day at the University of Tokyo” is a new industry research event that provides an opportunity to learn about the efforts of the Chitose Group and MATSURI participating companies, which promote the global bioeconomy, and gain insight into environmental issues. At this event, Tomohiro Fujita, a University of Tokyo alumnus and representative of the Chitose Group, will return to his alma mater and work with MATSURI participating companies to discuss project initiatives and the essence of bioeconomy (*1), which has a major impact on global economic trends. I would like to talk to you. We are looking for partners to work with us to build an industry the world has never seen before. Please feel free to join us.

(*1) According to the fact sheet of President Biden's executive order in September 2022, ``Executive Order on Promoting Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation for a Sustainable, Safe, and Secure U.S. Bioeconomy,'' the bioeconomy market will be expanded by 2030. An analysis has been published that predicts that the global market will expand to approximately 4,000 trillion yen. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/09/12/fact-sheet-president-biden-to-launch-a-national-biotechnology-and-biomanufacturing-initiative/
