Chitose Group CEO Fujita took the stage at a lecture held by Kobe Shoji Co., Ltd.

Scenes from the lecture

On June 13th (Thu), Chitose Group CEO Fujita took the stage at a lecture hosted by Kobelco Corporation. Kobelco has long been involved in MATSURI, a project to build an algae-based industry to replace the oil industry, and in September of last year, they invested in the Chitose Group as an underwriter of a third-party allotment of new shares. The lecture was attended by a wide range of people, from CEO Morichi and other management to employees from related departments.

In his lecture entitled "Trends in Bioeconomy and Chitose Group's Strategy," Fujita spoke about the bioeconomy, which is expected to reach a market size of 4,000 trillion yen by 2030, and the perspectives to keep in mind when starting new businesses, using examples of business development in each field. In particular, when discussing the topic of starting new businesses, such as "money is raised for solutions to social issues" and "the core of business is different even in the same industry," many people took notes and nodded enthusiastically, showing active reactions.

Q&A session

In the mid-term management plan announced in May this year, Kobelco Corporation stated that as the core trading company of the KOBELCO Group, it will further expand and deepen its business, diversify its business model by building its own supply chain, and pursue new business promotion that contributes to solving social issues and strengthening profitability. President Morichi's greeting on the day also emphasized the company's bold approach to new business ventures. We hope that this lecture, sharing the knowledge that the Chitose Group has accumulated, was a useful experience for everyone at Kobelco Corporation.
