On April 18, 2024, CHITOSE participated in the first UAE-Japan Joint Business Council Forum, held alongside the World Future Energy Summit (WFES). The event aimed to facilitate Japan-UAE joint business endeavors and initiatives, with attendees such as government officials, as well as business representatives from UAE and Japan. Participants showcased their projects across five distinct categories: Healthcare, Water Management, Web3.0/Innovation, Hydrogen Technologies, and Green Materials.

During the Web3/Innovation panel, Kyuzo Katsuyma, Senior Manager of Financial Strategy Div., introduced CHITOSE and also presented “MATSURI” as a novel industry in microalgae products and innovation. He also shared CHITOSE’s goal for the Middle East: “Let’s green a desert,” as part of the company’s broader ambition to build a circular society based on biotechnologies with the power of “small-living things.” Technical discussions followed, delving into the specifics of CHITOSE’s strategies and exploring the potential applications of microalgae across diverse industries such as food and jet fuel (SAF).
